Using Keyboard Dictation on Your Mac

Keyboard dictation on Macs with Apple processors now protects user privacy by performing general dictation processing on-device, meaning it's completely offline and doesn’t use the Internet. (Dictated SEARCH requests remain server-based, however.) And thanks to on-device dictation, users with Mac M1 processors can also dictate text of any length without a timeout!
With keyboard dictation, you can dictate text anywhere you can type it, and the feature improves the more you use it, personalizing over time. The Start Dictation command can be found in the Edit menu of text-based apps.
